Establishment Of Industrial Estates
1. SIDCO INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation, an Undertaking of Govt. of Tamilnadu, popularly known as “SIDCO” has been formed mainly to Develop the Industrial Estates in Tamilnadu during the year 1972. It was also meant to take care of Distribution of scares raw materials like paraffin wax, TNPL papers thorugh Raw matgerial Depot at Karpadi.
In Vellore District SIDCO Indl.Estates located at Katpadi, Ranipet, Mukundarayapuram, Vannivedu and Arakkonam. After having established the following Industrail Estates, it also takes care of the maintenance of water supply and drainage etc.

Sipcot Industrial Complex, Ranipet Phase I at Mukundarayapuram and Phase II & III located at Ranipet, Walajah taluk. It is located near Andhra, Karnataka and Tamilnadu Border. Located in the Leather processing belt of Tamilnadu.

(1) SIDCO has proposed to establiosh a TECHO PARK at Chengilikuppam village, Vaniyambadi taluk where an extent of 10.49 acres of land was purchased from TALCO during 2004. As the response from the entrepreneurs is lukewarm, the development works on the proposed Techno park is yet to be commenced.
Further SIDCO purchased land and work shed buildings of closd unit of Wool processing centre to an extent of 10 acres in Minnur vilalge at Vinnamangalam of Vaniyambadi taluk for the formation of Industrial Estate.
(2) Hon’ble Minister for Public works has recently announced that one I.T. park at Puthur village, Katpadi tk,. Vellore district will be established. (press clippings enclosed)
